Job Description
Title: Scientific Services Support
Location: Boston, MA
Duration: 12+ months
Daily Responsibilities/Job Description:
  • Pick up and deliver glassware and plastic ware
  • Observe the established procedures for the handling and transporting of glassware and contaminated items
  • Operate autoclaves for decontamination or sanitization
  • Operate glassware washers, dry heat sterilizers and ultrasonic baths
  • Maintain temperature chart recorders / equipment forms and use proper documentation
  • Perform routine inspections/checks on glass wash and autoclave equipment
  • Prepare items for sanitization including glassware, caps and related articles, employing procedural steps during the process
  • Inspect glassware for cleanliness and structural defects
  • Routinely checks inventory of glassware, notifying Glassware Lead of deficiencies
  • Provide housekeeping of glassware processing areas
  • Follow all procedures in performing all aspects of glassware processing
  • Perform monthly de-scale and routine maintenance
  • Use Good Documentation Practices (GDP) for all paperwork
  • Observe all safety precautions and be proactive in raising safety and operational concerns
  • Complete all required training in a timely manner
  • Mentor/Train new team members
  • Work with team lead to develop process improvement initiatives
  • This role will work closely with other teams to seamlessly deliver lab support services
  • Will be required to cross-train and back-up other lab support areas as needed
  • Maintain training and compliance in areas of health and safety, security, environmental and operational aspects of daily activities in the working environment
    Interaction level with Management/Team Members: Daily
    Skills Overview:
    Qualifications/years of experience:
  • Associate's degree in a scientific field OR
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience in a related field
    Must Haves:
    Previous glass wash experience preferred
    5-panel Drug Screen from any Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration ( 'SAMHSA”)
