We currently have an opportunity for a Production Manager position located in Teterboro, NJ, in the Flavor division. This role will report to the Director of Manufacturing/Plant Manager and have the opportunity to truly make an impact and enhance manufacturing operations.
Essential Job Functions :
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to meet/exceed customer expectations.
- Maintain FP inventory requirements and deliver manufactured products to shipping to meet customer ship date.
- Coordinate RM delivery with purchasing.
- Plan and prepare yearly departmental Budgets.
- Verify completeness of all manufacturing documents and that FIFO is followed in compounding.
- Approve production procedures and Time cards.
- Improve performance on key metrics, SAFETY-DELIVERY-COST-INVENTORY.
- Supervise: Production and Planning Supervisors/Lead Persons and Manufacturing Staff.
- This job description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
- Must have strong leadership skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Coordinate department repair and project activities with plant engineering functions.
- Ensure all processes and procedures related to inventory management are maintained and followed. Includes but not limited to inventory movements related to production regarding FIFO, quantities consumed, movement # and location.
Qualifications :
- B.S. Degree in a technical field.
- 5 to 10 years of progressive manufacturing experience and responsibilities, of which 3 must be in a supervisory capacity.
- Production Planning experience.
- Lean Manufacturing experience and application.
- SAP or a similar system.
The equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Competencies and Technical skills:
Must be a team player and creative problem solver. Must be able to handle multiple projects in parallel while maintaining high level quality in study design, execution, data analysis/interpretation, and report writing.
