This position is based at our Meherrin location in the Greenville, NC area.


The Company

From a base of 30 + locations across 8 states along the Eastern Seaboard, Meherrin services customers that produce several million acres of corn, cotton, fruit, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, tobacco, tree crops, turf, and vegetables. Meherrin strives to partner with customers by providing agronomic inputs and services using the most effective solutions.


Job Purpose

Seeking motivated detail-oriented individual preferably with Ag credit administrative background to join Meherrin’s seasoned team of Ag lending professionals. This role will primarily be supporting our Sales Finance Managers, focusing on compiling, analyzing, and mitigating risk for Meherrin’s Ag retail network, with potential cross divisional responsibilities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyzes all credit, financial & related detail to help determine risk profile of applicants and recommend appropriate credit approvals in collaboration with the credit team.
  • Accurate analysis of the financial position of existing and prospective borrowers. Financial statement & cash flow interpretation.
  • Credit Administration: New application processing. Collects, analyzes, and summarizes borrower’s production and financial information into a recommendation for Credit Manager review. Approves with in assigned authority.
  • Ensures credit file documentation is current and meets credit policy requirements. Properly documents credit decisions in customer files.
  • Responsibility for monthly reporting to assigned locations, credit team members and management.
  • Assists in collection efforts of past-due accounts as needed (minimal).
  • Collaborate with and support VP of Finance, Director of Financial Services, Credit Managers, Programs Manager, Leasing Specialist, and other internal partners by becoming cross trained in applicable team responsibilities. Other duties and special project support as assigned by leadership.


Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Agriculture Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field required. Three to five years of relevant work experience required.
  • Proven ability to establish and cultivate internal and external relationships as necessary to support function and business.


Competencies

  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail, initiative, excellent written and verbal communication skills, adapts to changes in work environment with ease, ability to work in team environment or independently and proficient in all Microsoft office programs.


Physical Demand

  • Requires the ability to use computer-based tools for planning and analysis on a frequent basis.
  • May have to remain stationary for extended periods, but also needs to navigate through work areas. Requires the ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with managers, direct reports and colleagues.
