Summary
OI Holdings is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Control Analyst to oversee inventory management across multiple retail locations. This role combines responsibilities from various inventory management functions, Point of Sale and METRC management, equipment logs and maintenance, procurement support, inventory audits, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Inventory Control Analyst will work closely with the Director of Inventory Operations (DIO) to optimize inventory processes, ensure accuracy, and enhance operational efficiency related to cannabis products, accessories, and apparel.
Position Details
- Location: Higher Love retail locations to include Marquette, Munising, Houghton, and Ontonagon.
- Weekly Overtime: as required.
- Weekend Work: as required.
- Travel: some, up to 75% with overnights as needed (this will be communicated in advance)
Job Duties
Point of Sale and METRC Management
- Ensure accuracy between state seed to sale system and point of sale system, maintain regulatory compliance and ensure inventory is accurate in collaboration with DIO & Area Managers.
Compliance & CRA Log Maintenance
- Assist with creating, maintaining, and overseeing detailed logs, including green waste logs, bulk flower logs, cleaning logs, scale calibration logs, METRC tags, shredding tags, and logs for expiring products in collaboration with DIO and store leadership. - Ensure logs are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Inventory Auditing
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and state regulations.
- Check and reconcile inventory count in POS to ensure consistency between system records and actual stock.
Procurement and Purchasing Support
- Collaborate with the DIO and procurement team to forecast inventory needs and support purchasing decisions.
- Assist in vendor management by evaluating supplier performance and reporting back to the DIO.
Back Stocking and Product Management
- Collaborate with store leadership and store inventory teams to ensure that back stocking processes are followed to ensure inventory levels are maintained and products are readily available for sales.
- Monitor and manage expiring products to ensure timely rotation and compliance with safety standards.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Generate and present regular inventory reports to the DIO, highlighting key metrics and findings.
- Utilize inventory management software to track and report on inventory adjustments, including damages, losses, and discrepancies.
Collaboration and Compliance
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline inventory processes and improve overall operations.
- Assist in training staff on inventory management procedures, including the proper handling of Metrc tags and documentation processes.
- Provide direct, transparent, and consistent communication with store management to ensure alignment between retail stores and corporate office related to inventory needs and audits of store inventory.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to maintain compliance and operational efficiency
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure that workflow and work procedures are documented, and that appropriate controls and audits are in place to ensure data and processing integrity.
- Ensure compliance with the Company’s policies and operational guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
Other Duties
- Willingness to be responsive outside of traditional work hours in case of an emergency during store hours. (within reason)
- Other duties as assigned including but not limited to, assisting with the Distribution Center, visiting other store locations upon request, cleaning/organizing, and any other tasks requested by management.
Job Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the cannabis industry.
- Experience working in with inventory in fast-paced environments
- Understanding of cannabis regulatory requirements
- Experience assisting with inventory control, quality monitoring,
- Proficiency with METRC, Dutchie MS Office Word, Excel and Google mail, calendar, documents.
- Solid organizational skills and a high-level attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
- Solid oral and written communication skills, including effective presentation skills and comfort in one-to-one or group situations in a professional and courteous manner.
- Knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws relating to key areas of responsibility.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- BA/BS degree in retail management, business, marketing or similar area preferred or an additional 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Working Conditions
- Able to use a computer while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
- Able to move about a typical office, manufacturing, warehouse, or retail environment.
- Able to perform general office managerial and administrative activities.
- Able to kneel, bend, reach, rotate, and stoop on an intermittent to regular basis daily.
- Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Regular and on-time attendance.
- Hours regularly exceed 40 hours per week.
- Travel required between locations
