Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Inventory Control Technician to support our operations in Fridley, MN. This is a Temp-to-Hire position offering a great opportunity to join a dynamic team within a leading company. As an Inventory Control Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate inventory management, optimizing warehouse and manufacturing processes, and ensuring the smooth flow of materials within the organization.



Job Posting: Inventory Control Technician (Temp-to-Hire)

Location: 4800 E River Rd, Fridley, MN 55421 (Minneapolis, MN)

Shift: 6:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Hourly Pay Rate: $23 - $24 (Max)


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate inventory processes, including receipt of Government Furnished Materials (GFM), generating receiving paperwork, and producing pick lists.
  • Manage workstation capacity planning, scheduling, and closing factory orders.
  • Track inventory shortages and coordinate resolutions.
  • Conduct physical inventories and audits, including discrepancies and excess material.
  • Ensure accurate inventory data entry into systems and track materials for disposition.
  • Support traffic and transportation coordination as necessary.
  • Provide support for all site inventory activities, including performing inventory tasks under supervision.
  • Apply BAE Systems' policies and procedures to manage company and contract property.
  • Assist in material handling tasks, such as unloading trucks and delivering materials to the shop floor.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and maintain a safe working environment.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 6 years of relevant manufacturing, property, or inventory control experience.
  • Familiarity with inventory control systems, particularly those relating to contractor-acquired and government-furnished property.
  • Strong understanding of receiving, stores, manufacturing, and shipping processes.
  • Ability to solve problems and take corrective action under guidance.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to interface effectively with personnel at all levels.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to research and analyze information from multiple sources.
  • Forklift and crane certification (training provided by Client).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the defense industry.
  • APICS CPIM or Oracle ERP Inventory Certifications are a plus.
  • Associate’s degree in a relevant field or APICS CPIM certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in Inventory and Supply Chain management.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work in an active shop environment for the majority of the shift.
  • Ability to lift or move materials up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Some travel may be required.
