Job Description

Position: Activities Coordinator

Location: Kaneohe, HI

Pay: $17 to $19/hour + a $750 sign-on bonus!

Experience:

  • 1 year of experience in a recreation/activity setting with geriatrics preferred
  • Community service/programming experience strongly desired

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current BLS/CPR certification

Type: Full-time; Contract

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking an Activities Coordinator to join a growing and dynamic team!


Job Description:


  • Assist in creating, designing, planning, and implementing therapeutic recreation programs
  • Lead group and one-on-one activities as assigned
  • Document residents' participation and progress
  • Attend resident care plan meetings
  • Help prepare monthly activity calendars and plan special events or trips
  • Provide activity services to bed-bound residents
  • Encourage resident participation in programs and advocate for their rights
  • Maintain professional boundaries with residents and rapport with staff and volunteers
  • Gather activity preferences from newly admitted residents and maintain quarterly documentation
  • Keep supplies, equipment and work areas clean and safe


Position Requirements:


  • Able to identify and act on signs of fatigue/irritability in residents
  • Public relations skills are a must
  • Efficient and clear communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills in directing resident participation in activity programs
  • Must have a positive attitude in helping others
  • Lift and carry supplies up to 25 pounds
