Senior Scientist, Bioanalytical Chemistry


Role Overview

We are currently partnering with a smaller sized pharmaceutical company in their search for a Senior Scientist in Bioanalytical Chemistry to join their R&D team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in mass spectrometry and high-throughput analytical methods for biological sample analysis. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the group’s drug discovery programs by establishing bioanalytical methods that can transition from preclinical research to clinical trials.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate bioanalytical methods for quantitative analysis of biological samples, ensuring high accuracy, sensitivity, and reproducibility.
  • Apply advanced mass spectrometry techniques to analyze biological samples, supporting pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and toxicology studies.
  • Design and execute bioanalytical experiments, interpreting complex data to understand the pharmacokinetics and metabolism of drug candidates.
  • Collaborate with pharmacologists, toxicologists, and medicinal chemists to integrate bioanalytical data across the drug development pipeline.
  • Manage and maintain bioanalytical instruments, ensuring proper calibration and optimal performance for high-throughput analysis.


Required Skills and Experience

  • Education: M.S. or Ph.D. in Bioanalytical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience :
  • Ph.D. with 5+ years postdoctoral experience, or M.S. with 10+ years of relevant post-degree experience; industry experience preferred.
  • Expertise in LC/MS-MS and other high-throughput analytical techniques for quantitative analysis in complex matrices (e.g., serum, tissue, tumor); proficiency in bottom-up proteomics and peptide-based modalities is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop and validate bioanalytical methods to meet the precision and accuracy standards of drug development.
  • Strong collaborative skills for effective work in a multidisciplinary environment, with excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex scientific data clearly.
