Our client is seeking a highly organized and experienced Senior Buyer to join their team within the Defense and Aerospace industry. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management, ideally from a defense and aerospace background, and will be responsible for managing all procurement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all procurement-related activities, ensuring all purchasing actions align with relevant company policies.
- Develop and implement strategic purchasing strategies and procedures in correlation with the latest industry trends.
- Participate in negotiations with suppliers to secure advantageous terms while maintaining the company's quality standards.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate supplier capabilities with a focus on quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Evaluate, manage and build strong relationships with defense and aerospace suppliers.
- Oversee the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution.
- Analyze procurement data, anticipate future needs, and provide recommendations to increase cost-effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of purchasing or supply chain management experience, preferably within the Defense and Aerospace industry.
- Demonstrated experience in managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts.
- Strong knowledge of procurement regulations and procedures within the defense and aerospace industry is essential.
- Excellent organization skills with a problem-solving mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Purchasing Management software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
