Kelly Engineering is seeking a DIRECT HIRE Construction Services / Project Manager for one of our leading clients at their Wausau/Schofield, WI location.


  • Travel expectations: 1 week a month to sites in TN, OK, and NC.
  • Projects: New builds (manufacturing plants), additions to current facilities.
  • Direct reports: Small team of 1-2 other people
  • Compensation: Targeting $125,000 - 130,000/yr with bonus
  • Relocation: Assistance Available


Ideal candidate:

  • 4+ years experience in construction management in a supervisory or managerial position
  • Ability to work on-site in central WI
  • Able to travel 25-30%
  • Industry experience in new builds and/or additions for manufacturing, production, industrial, commercial construction.


Your opportunity:

As a Construction Services Manager, you will oversee and coordinate the construction and expansion of facilities. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget in order to meet the needs of the business. As the Construction Services Manager you will work closely with other key stakeholders to lead and develop team members. This role does require relocation to Schofield, WI.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage and oversee all construction projects from initiation to completion, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project specifications and requirements are met.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, monitoring expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Prepare and review project contracts, vendor contracts, change orders, and other legal documents in collaboration with the legal and procurement teams.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with executive stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, milestones, and potential issues.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards, building codes, and regulations.
  • Identify and resolve project-related issues, conflicts, and delays, implementing effective solutions and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure that construction projects adhere to quality standards, industry best practices, and stakeholder expectations. Occasional travel required as determined by projects.
  • Manage the procurement of construction materials, equipment, and services, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective solutions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of contractors and subcontractors, providing feedback and initiating necessary corrective actions.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and practices on construction sites to minimize risks and accidents.
  • Lead the construction team by implementing processes and procedures to ensure effective and efficient communication and organization.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new construction technologies, regulations, and best practices.
  • Direct supervision of team members. Monitor work performance issues, maintain appropriate records, prepare and conduct attendance and work performance reprimands. Prepare and conduct performance reviews. Address non-performing team members and work teams effectively.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and professional development among team members.
  • Monitor and inspect construction progress to ensure that it adheres to the design specifications, quality standards, and timelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality on sensitive items/topics.

What you should have:

  • Required 6-8 years of relevant work experience in construction management, and in a supervisory or managerial position
  • Required 4 Year / bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, or related field of study.
  • Project or construction management experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in Power Point, Excel, Microsoft Teams and Word
  • Self-starter, confident personality with a strong customer/client focus
  • Demonstrates problem solving /analysis skills
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Negotiation skills
  • Detail orientated, patient, and quality-orientated
