Race Winning Brands has an immediate opening for a Planning Manager at our headquarters located in Mentor, OH.
The Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning and scheduling of production activities to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing operations. This role involves developing and implementing production plans, coordinating with production and customer service departments, and optimizing scheduling and production planning to meet customer demands and business objectives. The Planning Manager will ensure that production schedules are aligned with sales forecasts, inventory targets, and overall production capacity, contributing to cost efficient operations and profitability of Race Winning Brands.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (the following in only a summary of the typical functions of the job, not an exhaustive or comprehensive list of all responsibilities, tasks, and duties)
•Develop and implement detailed production plans and schedules based on sales forecasts and customer orders.
•Coordinate with production, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure the availability of materials and resources.
•Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines and optimize efficiency.
•Optimize the allocation of labor, equipment, and materials to maximize production efficiency.
•Plan and schedule for BTS availability according to forecast and safety stocks to minimize stockouts and mitigate overstock situations.
•Collaborate with sales, engineering, procurement, and production teams to ensure alignment on production goals and schedules.
•Communicate production plans and changes to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
•Serve as the primary point of contact for production planning issues and inquiries.
•Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production planning, such as on-time delivery, production efficiency, and inventory turnover.
•Analyze production data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
•Prepare and present regular reports on production planning performance to senior management.
•Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in production planning.
•Lead initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce lead times, and improve overall operational performance.
•Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in production planning and manufacturing technologies.
•Work with Engineering to ensure accuracy of Bills of Material and Routings.
•Act as subject matter expert for ERP requirements, transactions, and module relationships for Planning and Scheduling.
Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in planning
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a managerial or supervisory position
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
  • Certification in production planning and inventory management (e.g., APICS CPIM) is desirable.
