A barge dispatcher is responsible for managing but not limited to the following: Day to Day harbor dispatching in St. Louis/Cairo Responding to calls/emails from local docks on barge deliveries Coordinate deliveries as necessary with boat/barge efficiency in mind Game planning with harbor tugs on barges that need to be cleared for future deliveries Assisting with customer needs/traffic Sending traffic logs Provide timings/availabilities on barge shifts Answer billing inquires Assisting with tow building coordination Work with harbor tugs on Northbound and Southbound tow configurations Discussing with traders on commodity needs for export Communicating with incoming linehauls Ensuring barge topoff/transfer needs are being fulfilled Maintaining night orders and ensuring all orders have been completed Monitor barge inventory within fleets Manage shuttle runs & barge redeliveries throughout the harbor Coordinating barge cleaning & repair with operations team Assist on harbor tug downtime & planning with operations team Harbor billing and invoicing to customers Assisting with barge transfer data entries Track linehaul turn time data Keeping Fleetcom tags up to date Communication with internal elevators on barge needs for daily loadings
