Do you have two years of prior dispatching experience in the transportation industry?Advantage Resourcing is actively in search of reliable and experienced individuals in Houston, TX, for a rewarding role as a Dispatcher with our successful client. Pay: $21 per hour
1st Shift Hours: 7 AM - 5 PM
3rd Shift Hours: 10 PM - 7 AM
Essential Functions:

  • Schedule and dispatch drivers, equipment, or service vehicles to appropriate locations according to driver or customer requests, and contract requirements, using TRS, SAMSARA, and any other applicable company program(s).
  • Arrange for necessary repairs to restore service and schedules when breakdowns occur en route.
  • Relay work orders, messages, and information to or from drivers, supervisors, and the shop.
  • Confer with customers or supervising personnel to address questions, problems, and requests for service or equipment.
  • Prepare daily work reports and run schedules to ensure no service disruptions.
  • Maintain working relationships with the driver pool in a professional, ethical, and polite manner.
  • Track vacations and call-offs for all drivers.

Qualifications:
  • Two years of prior dispatching experience in the transportation industry.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by road - logistics.
  • Familiar with DOT Hours of Service Rules and Regulations.
  • Proficiency in administrative and clerical procedures/systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Excellent listening, decision-making, analytical, and time-management skills.
  • Flexibility regarding scheduled hours and willingness to travel as needed.
