Primary Purpose:
Oversee and manage the receiving and stock department to ensure efficient product movement to storage and production. Supervise receiving processes to meet quality standards, achieve departmental goals, and maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment. Participate in all scheduled plant inventories and effectively communicate company policies and procedures to the team.
Team Leaders must maintain no more than two attendance occurrences to remain in the role.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management.
Set an example of professionalism and accountability.
Foster open communication and trust among team members.
Coach and mentor employees, encouraging innovation and empowering the team.
Conduct performance evaluations and recommend hiring, transfers, and promotions.
Establish clear expectations for new hires and oversee their training.
Conduct daily morning huddles to review workload and expectations.
Organize and balance team workflows to meet production timelines.
Minimize scrap and waste while analyzing processes to improve efficiency.
Ensure proper handling of paperwork and compliance with company standards.
Enforce safety protocols and maintain organized, clean workspaces.
Identify and address safety issues, escalating when necessary.
Monitor team members' equipment inspections and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
Attend production and team meetings to align on goals and address concerns.
Communicate effectively with the assistant material manager and team.
Provide recognition for achievements and celebrate successes with the team.
Promote the company's open-door policy and equal opportunity principles.
Address team concerns in collaboration with the assistant material manager.
Regularly update team members on job expectations, policies, and safety procedures.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Ability to effectively assign and control workload.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to learn and implement new processes.
Decision making skills.
Self-motivated, demonstrates initiative.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and / or pulling.
Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
Work environment is not temperature controlled and may result in exposure to extreme temperatures.
Work primarily involves sitting / standing, up to 4 hours at a time.
