In this role, you will be responsible for coding, testing, and delivering high-quality deliverables, and should be willing to learn new technologies.
Responsibilities Acting as an escalation point for Finance users to provide production management services including end user support, systems monitoring, incident and problem management, plant management, and event management.
Acting as a lead for the P&L and Balance Sheets systems developed in-house and deployed on an industry-leading Teradata data warehouse and a range of both internal and external connectivity over end user GUIs which are a mixture of C++/Java clients and web-based sessions.
Scripting and tool development is encouraged to help perform data analysis and commoditize request resolution steps.
Aiding troubleshooting with strong technical skills in both multiple OS environments and Teradata/Sybase databases.
Problem management to drive the cost of support and complexity, thereby reducing the risk of failure and seeking the cause of inefficiencies we face, to enable us to take a metrics-driven approach to prioritizing work.
The holder of this role would be a key contributor to cross-department initiatives opening up the possibility of visibility to a broad set of the Firm.
The role offers an interesting mix of technical and business challenges allowing the holder to develop an in-depth understanding of how Morgan Stanley's Finance business works.
Role requires working with multiple Finance Development teams and Finance Controllers based in global locations.
Understanding the Finance Division and the core asset classes that enable us to produce key Financial Reporting. This will require a full understanding of the Critical Business path for P&L daily and monthly reporting.
To ensure our client issues are resolved within defined SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and meet their expectations, managing and chairing outage conversations with senior key decision makers both in the business and the greater IT team.
Leveraging the available tools within the team, to ensure that system and critical incidents are correctly managed, ensuring timely resolution and focusing on strategic solution detailed analysis of new issues and documenting associated fixes.
Ability to train other colleagues in the support team and mentor junior support staff members in their day-to-day task execution.
Provide detailed analysis of issues/governance report to senior management. This is a client-facing role based in Montreal with a lot of scope for spearheading new initiatives to take user support to the next level.
Qualifications we seek in you! Minimum Qualifications BE/B Tech/MCA
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications/Skills Hands-on experience with Linux 7.x operating system at an advanced level.
Experience with Service Oriented Architecture, Distributed Systems, Scripting such as Python and shell, Relational database (E.g., Sybase, DB2, SQL, Postgres).
Hands-on experience with web servers (Apache / Nginx), Application Servers (Tomcat / JBoss) to include application integration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience with Docker containers, Kubernetes, and SaaS platform integration.
Exposure and experience with messaging technology like Kafka.
Clear concept of load balancer, web proxies, and storage platforms like NAS / SAN from an implementation perspective only.
Familiar with basic security policies for secure hosting solutions, Kerberos, and standard encryption methodologies including SSL and TLS.
Prior experience managing large web-based n-tier applications in secure environments on cloud.
Strong knowledge of SRE Principles with a grasp over tools/approach to apply them.
Strong infrastructure knowledge in Linux/Unix admin, Storage, Networking, and Web Technologies.
Experience in troubleshooting Application Issues and Managing Incidents.
Exposure to tools like Open Telemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Ansible.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
