Certification Details BLS ACLS State Licensure NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Job Details Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical position available at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. Job Requirements Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of strong Med/Surg, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience. Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class). Patient Population: Neuro and Neuro-Surgical patients – CVAs, elective back/neck surgeries, post-op cranis, cerebral angiogram. General medical and psych. Skillset: NIHSS/dysphagia screen/strong Neuro assessments, basic tele interpretation, strict I’s & O’s/straight cath/Foleys, initiate/titrate heparin gtts., blood/blood product administration/venipuncture/blood cultures, NG tubes, indwelling drain management, stable gtts. (i.e. Protonix, Lasic, etc.). Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills Schedule Information Contract Length: 13 weeks Start: 12/2 or 12/16 - Bi-weekly orientation Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request) Primary location: Gateway Shift Requirement: 12hr Nights 6:30-7 Float Requirement: First to float within skillset. Potential to float to different campuses. Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday.
