Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
Performs specimen processing and accessioning in the Central Processing area of the Main Lab. Performs various types of blood specimen collection. Reviews lab reports and performs quality review and troubleshooting, resolving problems as they occur. May prepare specimens for testing, accessioning and packaging for dispatch to outside labs according to written protocols.

Required Qualifications:
- Technical knowledge of lab procedures, functions and processes gained through education, experience or a combination of the two
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- State of California Phlebotomy License (Certified Phlebotomy Tech I)
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prefer one year of phlebotomy experience or completion of UCI phlebotomy program
