Summary/Objective
The role of the Shipping/Receiving Operator is responsible for handling, moving, and preparing home good products for storage and shipping within the warehouse. This position involves manual lifting, stacking, and organizing goods with a hand dolly and occasional forklift use. The Shipping/Receiving Operator plays a key role in ensuring inventory accuracy, fulfilling orders, and maintaining efficient warehouse operations.
Essential Functions

• Manually unload home good products from ocean containers.
• Transport, stack, and organize products in designated storage areas using hand dolly.
• Perform put-away of inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and placement.
• Assist in regular cycle counts and inventory control to maintain accuracy.
• Move materials within the warehouse and assist in other warehouse activities as directed by Supervisor or Manager
• Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from staging and processing areas
• Operate a forklift as needed (certification preferred).
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards.
• Safely operate Powered Industrial Trucks by securing material prior to handling or storing and by operating at reasonable speeds and control. Levels- Forklift, Reach lift
• Adhere to all safety guidelines, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) preventing incidents or injury to self or others
• Responsible for shipping, pulling orders and completing required paperwork, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Other duties as assigned.

Competencies

• Ability to perform manual lifting and move large items safely.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in inventory management.
• Proficiency with warehouse tools such as hand dollies and basic knowledge of warehouse processes.
• Forklift operation skills (certification a plus).
• Ability to work efficiently in a team and independently.

Physical Demands
Be able to lift 75 lbs. Use two man lift when needed.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is an hourly position working full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime and weekends as required. Flexibility for additional hours during peak periods may be necessary.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Proficiency in English, Bilingual preferred but not required
• Good communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Customer-oriented and cool-tempered
• 1 year warehouse or logistics experience, preferably handling large or bulky items
• Forklift Certification preferred
