A. Function Summary:
Primary responsibility: Safe and efficient receiving, handling, and storage of all products within the Granite Falls warehouse.
B. Technical Skills:
- Knowledge and practice of all applicable safety rules and procedures including but not limited to:
- Safe lifting practices
- Safe product storage methods
- Safe operation of forklift and electric tugger
- Ability to operate forklift and tugger safely and efficiently. Must pass certification for forklift operation. Willing to train the right person.
- Ability to safely and efficiently store all finished goods from Granite manufacturing lines.
- Knowledge of all stock locations/ products and area designations.
- Knowledge of correct labeling requirements.
- Ability to identify and differentiate various inventoried products and characteristics.
- Ability to read and understand all applicable forms and paperwork involved in Warehousing Department, including but not limited to Material Transfer forms and Production Worksheets.
- Take initiative to maintain good 5S housekeeping and a clean and orderly work environment.
- Take initiative to make constructive suggestions involving safety and productivity improvements.
C. Soft skills:
- Problem Solving
a. Consolidate stock items to make room for additional product storage.
b. Determine appropriate stocking location for product.
- Teamwork
- Work closely with other material handlers and production personnel to ensure timely transfer of product to warehouse.
- Work closely with Production Department to ensure timely and accurate reporting of product receipt locations.
- Communication
- Maintain good communication with Supervisors and others. Report all problems or potential problems and delays to Department Lead or Supervisor.
- Communicate all pertinent warehouse information to oncoming shift.
- Training
- Assists with training of less experienced material handlers.
D. Leadership Skills:
- The ability to follow directions given by a lead or manager.
- The ability to be a positive example to peers (Safety, Quality, Productivity, and/or Housekeeping) with minimal supervision. The ability to promote teamwork in your department.
E. Additional Qualifications:
- Education: Equivalent of High School education in English, Math, verbal and written communication skills.
- Job Experience:
- Required: Entry Level position. 6 months experience in manufacturing.
- Preferred: 6 months to 1 year warehousing experience including forklift certification and computer experience.
- Shift Availability:
- First Shift: 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
- Overtime Requirements: Overtime and Weekends as needed.
- Working Conditions: Warehouse environment, requires lifting up to 50 lbs. physically demanding work. Extensive walking and standing on cement floors. Lifting, handling and moving of material via forklift operation.
- Machines or equipment used on this job: Forklift, pallet jack, carts, label printer and computer.
- Comments: Must be dependable, responsible and willing to adhere to all Pregis policies and procedures.

Responsible to Supervise: None
Works closely with: Production, Distribution and Planning Departments, Department Lead and Supervisor.
