The Pain and Palliative Care Division at Hackensack University Medical Center seeks a dedicated and compassionate physician trained in the management of patients with cancer rehabilitation needs and chronic pain. - Conduct thorough patient assessments, prescribe appropriate medications, perform interventional procedures, and provide ongoing patient education and support.
Outpatient responsibilities include the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of:
- Chronic musculoskeletal conditions
- Orthopedic and sports medicine related diagnoses
- Chronic pain related to oncologic conditions
- Neuropathic pain related to radiation, chemotherapeutics and iatrogenic etiologies
Inpatient responsibilities include the evaluation, diagnosis and management of:
- Chronic non-malignant pain related to conditions such as pancreatitis, back pain, neuropathic conditions, opiate use disorder, post surgical pain syndromes
- Acute or chronic functional decline for cancer survivors with ongoing symptom management needs
- Pain associated with prior treatment related to cancer diagnoses
Requirements:
- Degree from a recognized medical school
- Have or have the ability to obtain a New Jersey Medical License
- Board certification in Pain Medicine or related field (eligibility to be considered)
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in pain management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of pain mechanisms, pharmacology, and interventional pain procedures, including the use of opiates and non-opiate therapies for inpatient and outpatient care.
- Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary teams (e.g., orthopedics, psychiatry, neurology, and oncology) with excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, and a patient-centered approach.
