Construction SuperintendentnnJob DetailsnnJob LocationnnDandridge - 207 W Main - Dandridge, TNnnPosition TypennFull TimennEducation Levelnn4 Year DegreennSalary Rangenn$70,000.00 - $70,000.00 Salary/yearnnTravel PercentagennRoad WarriornnJob ShiftnnAnynnJob CategorynnFacilitiesnnDescriptionnnPosition Summary:nnThe Construction Superintendent assists the VP of Fitzhouse in refurbishing, remodeling, and ensuring the regular maintenance of all facilities owned and/or operated by WestCare and all related entities. The position will include extensive travel, including local, regional, and out-of-state, sometimes requiring overnight stays. This person is also responsible for interviewing, requesting hires to VP of Fitzhouse, and supervising all construction workers.nnEssential Job Functions:nnInterviews and sends requests of hire of construction workers to the VP of Fitzhouse as needed for projects, and supervises the work of assigned construction workers;nnSupervises WestCare staff under the direction of the VP of Fitzhouse;nnDetermines methods, type of materials, supplies, machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for all construction projects;nnProvides assistance to the VP of Fitzhouse in new construction, refurbishing, and remodeling of all facilities owned and/or operated by WestCare and all related entities;nnPlans and manages the facility operation budgets;nnInterprets and implements management policies and directives to ensure that the Foundation’s operational and business goals are achieved;nnSolicits and reviews responses to RFPs; making recommendations to the VP of Fitzhouse regarding proposals;nnIdentifies and collects pertinent data for analysis and creates statistical spreadsheets and reports relating to special projects;nnRespond to concerns regarding facilities maintenance and safety issues by developing action plans and making recommendations;nnPrepares and submits reports concerning compliance with State and Federal safety regulations, fire codes, employee safety training, and facility maintenance;nnMakes regular site visits to assigned WestCare facilities, including local, regional, and out-of-state locations;nnAttends all necessary meetings and trainings to gather information needed to satisfy WestCare facility needs;nnDevelops and maintains all appropriate files, records, and documents;nnMaintains compliance with all lease and contractual expectations in relation to facility operations;nnWorks harmoniously with WestCare Foundation parties, including Finance, Human Resources, Professional Services, Office of the General Counsel, etc.;nnEmbrace and embodies the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation;nnPerforms all other duties as assigned.nnQualificationsnnCertifications/Licensures:nnLicensure, certification, and/or training relevant to the position preferred;nnValid drivers license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCares vehicle insurance is required.nnEducation:nnBachelors Degree in architectural design and/or knowledge of architectural design and engineering for construction industry or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience preferred;nnExperience and Competencies:nnAt least 3+ years experience in a comparable role required;nnAbility to lead and also be part of the team required;nnAbility to exercise good judgment and discretion required;nnKnowledge of building, fire, and safety codes and regulations required;nnAbility to review and determine maintenance necessary to maintain safe facilities required;nnAbility to be aware of and adhere to specific timeframes and time limitations required;nnThe ability to conceptualize Quality Improvement plans and put them into operation required;nnAdherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality required;nnKnowledge of architecture and engineering required;nnWorking Conditions:nnPossible exposure to fumes, dust, wet/damp surfaces, and extreme hot and cold conditions;nnPossible need to climb ladders, work on uneven terrain, and inspect and work in confined spaces;nnPossible exposure to hazardous chemicals;nnExtensive travel - local, regional and out-of-state including overnight stays;nnA minimum of 40 hours per week is expected but significantly more hours will be required from time to time. Completion of job duties may require working before and after normal working hours. Regular attendance is required. Being able to work as many hours as is necessary to complete job tasks is a required and essential duty of this position.
