CHI St. Alexius Health Williston proudly provides primary care specialty care family medicine 3D mammography orthopedics neurology and several other health services to our Williston community.nnWorks under the supervision of the Clinical Manager. The Certified Nurse Assistant will function as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team under the direction of a registered nurse providing nursing care and other functions as assigned or delegated by the Clinical Manager. The Certified Nurse Assistant will function according to the State Nurse Practice Act, nursing policy and procedure, and the Mission and Philosophy of the Facility.nnResponsibilitiesnnTake vitals (blood-pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration) according to established procedures.nnMeasure statistics - record intake and output, height, and weight.nnObtain routine lab samples not requiring laboratory personnel.nnHelp patients with ADLs (activities of daily living) for which they need assistance, specifically bathing, combing hair, brushing teeth, shaving, putting on stockings and/or slippers, dressing, ambulation, and toileting.nnHelp patients with equipment for their treatment and help patients to move, transfer from bed to chair, or transport them to other departments for testing or treatment.nnInfection control: know and follow proper protocol in avoiding the spread of germs and spores which transport disease.nnObserve and report to assess the progress of the patient as well as any needs the patient might have for medical intervention and observe and remove any potential hazards which could cause accidents.nnKeep patients rooms clean and orderlynnSet up patients for meals, assisted with meals if needed, or fed if unable to do for self and document the amount of meal taken.nnQualificationsnnRequired Education and ExperiencennPrevious health care experience preferred.nnRequired Licensure and CertificationsnnCNA Certification (ND State Nursing Assistant Registry)nnRequired Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and TrainingnnCurrent certification in CPR within orientation period and renewed annually. Attend in-service/meetings and keep current on work related issues – 12 hours CEU/year.nnMust have positive and effective skills in dealing with patients, families, visitors, co-workers, providers, and other hospital staff.
