The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people's lives. Through the collection and resale of gently used goods we are able to provide the financial support to assist men and women with a variety of social and spiritual afflictions. The in-residence rehabilitation program focuses on basic necessities with every man or woman being provided a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure time activities, group and individual counseling, and spiritual direction. All our effort is focused on developing life skills and a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. More than just a job, each member of the team contributes to recycling goods that literally recycle and repair broken lives.

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Sorter/Processor to perform a variety of functions in order to assist in the operation of the sorting room or production area of a Production Store.

Responsibilities
n
n - Assist as required with sorting room operation.
n
nn
n - Cross train in all sorting room functions under the guidance of the Sorting Room Supervisor.
n
nn
n - Assist in cleaning and general maintenance of sorting room area.
n
nn
n - Maintain a clean and clutter free work area.
n
nn
n - Responsible for baling as needed.
n
nn
n - This position will support the work therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers by providing to beneficiaries; an example of professional conduct, work habits, and supervision (as directed by Supervisor).

n - Other duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor and/or Administrator.

Sorter
n
n
n - Process and sort donations by inspecting and separating saleable from unsaleable items.
n
nn
n - Deliver a minimum of 300 store quality garments per hour.
n
nn
n - Categorize and box seasonal clothing, bric, and shoes.
n
n
n
Hanger/Tagger
n
n
n - Process, hang, and tag all sorted merchandise.
n
nn
n - Deliver a minimum of 225 hung garments per hour.
n
nn
n - Ensure clothes are hung according to policy and on proper hanger.
n
nn
n - Ensure that tag is properly placed on garment according to Salvation Army policy
n
n
n
Pricer
nn
n - Process and price all sorted merchandise.
n
nn
n - Deliver a minimum of 225 priced garments per hour.
n
nn
n - Ensure that quality, name brand, condition, etc., are considered to determine price of garment.

Bric a Brac

n - Sort and clean all saleable miscellaneous merchandise donations daily.

n - Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item.
n - Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.

n - Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.

Shoes/Accessories

n - Sort and clean all saleable shoes, handbags and accessory donations daily.

n - Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item.
n

n - Process to the store a minimum of 25 pieces/sets per hour maintaining all merchandise in the required order and manner.

n - Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.

Domestics
n

n - Sort and measure all saleable linen items daily as required

n - Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item.

n - Process to the store a minimum of 25 pieces/sets per hour maintaining all merchandise in the required order and manner.

n - Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.

Books/Records/Toys

n - Sort and clean all saleable merchandise daily as required.

Furniture/Electrical

n - Sort, clean and test all electrical and furniture donations as required.

n - Ticket all electrical merchandise using “sold as is” tickets and assign an individual fair market price for each item.

n - Complete furniture tickets and record required information assigning a fair market price for each furniture item.

n - Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.

n - Mark down furniture items on sales floor in accordance with policy.

Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.

Qualifications
nn
n - Processing experience preferred.
n
n
n - Have a working knowledge of clothing quality and price.
n
n
n - Ability to stand for long periods.
