Our rich diversity of people and ideas makes us a stronger, more innovative organization.nnJob SummarynnThe Gas General Foreman leads the crew to complete daily tasks related to the installation and repair of natural gas pipelines and/or joint trench utilities for power and telephone in a safe and correct manner. The position oversees crew safety and productivity, installing and pressure testing both mainline and service line gas pipe, as well as completing routine safety inspections and documentation. This position oversees the Line team and works with customers, senior management, and personnel from other departments.nnResponsibilitiesnnOversee and coordinate crew work to install natural gas pipelines via open-cut or directional drill methods.nnObtain all necessary licenses, permits, and materials for each job.nnOversee, accomplish, and ensure all work quality related to each project and assume full responsibility for its standard and timeliness.nnCoordinate and delegate daily tasks to crew members related to digging and placing product.nnGain entry to site buildings for work crew and call in utilities located at each project site.nnFacilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections to ensure the crews work safely.nnComplete all paperwork in a timely manner. Train new hires and trainees to learn the trade.nnTrack employee hours and submit for payroll on a timely basis.nnCall in utilities located at each project site.nnInspect existing utilities are properly identified and exposed, to ensure piping is correctly installed and fused, job meets customer specifications, and it meets company quality standards.nnDrive, haul, and/or operate equipment to/from job sites to assist crews in completion of work.nnKeep the job(s) moving on time, clean up, and perform job restoration at the end of job.nnCommunicate with customers and inspectors.nnQualificationsnnMinimumnnHigh school diploma, or equivalent.nn3 years of gas pipeline construction or maintenance experience.nn2 years of supervisory experience.nnClass A CDL.nnOSHA 10 certification.nnPreferrednn5 or more years of gas pipeline construction experience.nnOperator Qualification (OQ).nnPipe fusion certification.nnDOT Flagger certification.nnFirst Aid and CPR certification.nnPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentnnThis job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.nnThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships. Precise hand-eye coordination.
