Job DescriptionnnGENERAL PURPOSEnnRun and maintain packaging equipment, which includes labelers, scales, conveyors, casers, stackers, coders, and other related packaging items, safely and efficiently in relation to material usage documentation, product waste, sealing, coding, and weight control.nnJOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESnn· Order packaging material (paper, poly, cartons) from storage as needednn· Visually inspect boxes, cartons, and other packaged materials for printing defectsnn· Ensure proper sizing of product containersnn· Load packaging material onto machines in a timely manner to ensure no line stoppagesnn· Observe operation of equipment and perform necessary adjustments to ensure product specifications are metnn· Perform net weight control checks and make equipment adjustments as needednn· Communicate any changes in product flow, equipment malfunctions, shortages, or deviations from specifications to Production Supervisor, maintenance, or other operators verbally and/or in writingnn· Inspect packaging, coding, and seals to verify conformance to specifications, and performs necessary adjustments to ensure compliancenn· Ensure the proper packaging materials are used for each product being producednn· Working knowledge and experience with wrapper operations; watching for jams and effectively threading wrap to prevent cost downtime due to handler errornn· Ensure machine is supplied with correct material needed to run and complete logbooks as requirednn· Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format, and completed with required informationnn· Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’snn· Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshootnn· Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processesnn· Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediatelynn· Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issuesnn· Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirementsnn· The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required.
