Job Summary
The Die Maintenance Mechanic I is an important position within the Die Maintenance Department. They have learned all of the duties of the Die Maintenance Trainee proficiently and qualified to learn a new set of responsibilities in order to advance. These new responsibilities assures that molding dies are safe and all criteria are met in order to produce a quality part safely as in the other position.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform all of the duties of a trainee i.e., clean, buff and polish dies, power wash dies/ tooling when required. Assemble, disassemble and setup dies etc.
- Understand what a work order is, how to perform the tasks on the work order and how to fill out the work order when completed.
- Perform die alignments, learn how to shim dies and float a die.
- Cut screens for male dies and install them correctly.
- Adjust the spray guns for production on the spray booths for each program.
- Learn how the components associated for producing a quality part safely work proficiently. Components like steam traps, steam filters and steam pumps.
- Disassemble steam traps, clean, repair, assemble and re-install steam traps.
- Remove and replace steam and vacuum hoses safely.
- Learn the theories behind steam heating, condensation, vacuum systems and pneumatics.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above, understand, and live by Armtec’s ethics and business conduct policies.
Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must be available to work any shift.
- Work overtime when required.
- Must have knowledge on hydraulics, pneumatics, vacuum systems, plumbing, steam systems, process tooling maintenance, tooling setup and metrology.
- Must understand and be familiar with MSPI’s and MSDS.
- Must be able to troubleshoot and fix die tooling low level breakdowns.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be dependable, responsible, and have the ability to deal with people effectively.
