Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.nnPRECISION DIMENSIONAL INSPECTOR (SUPPLY CHAIN)nnRESPONSIBILITIES:nnPerform precision inspection verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materials. May include but is not limited to purchased parts, in-process and final assemblies, and materials for workmanship and conformance to specifications/drawingsnnUtilize inspection equipment such as micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, height gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs)nnApprove or reject items and document inspection results as requirednnPerform documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design and specification requirementsnnCommunicate with internal customers, and suppliers as required to resolve inspection discrepanciesnnPerform surface plate inspection of first article, in-process, and lot sample parts if requirednnUse electronic enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to route parts and components to proper departmentsnnBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:nnHigh school diploma or equivalency certificatenn2+ years of inspection experience in an aerospace, aviation, military or manufacturing environmentnnPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:nnMODUS programming experiencennAerospace precision inspection experiencennISO 9001/AS9100 experiencennCMM experience with PC-DMIS software experiencennRomer Arm experience with PC-DMIS softwarennSolid computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook and ExcelnnDCC (direct computer control) experiencennStatistical process control experience a plusnnAbility to detect design and drawing flawsnnAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specification using ASME Y14.5. GD&T and skillful use of metrology tools and gaugesnnADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:nnMust be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed.nnShift times: 1st shift (5:00AM – 3:30PM), 2nd shift: (3:00PM – 1:30AM)nnAbility to lift 25 lbs. unassistednnLifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this positionnnMust be willing to travel up to 10%nnCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:nnPay range:nnLevel 1: $30.00 - $38.00/hournnLevel 2: $34.00 - $43.00/hournnLevel 3: $38.00 - $48.00/hournnYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.nnBase salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
