MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH PLCS
Reporting jointly to the Production Manager and Service Manager, responsible for ensuring:
1. Machines are electrically and mechanically assembled properly, with correct documentation,
on time, and on budget. (Production)
2. Customers – operators, sanitation, and maintenance – are trained how to use them effectivel
while having a great experience. (Service)
Hands-on, highly visible, requiring full accountability and ownership. Will need to act quickly to
solve customer problems with minimal oversight at times. Positive attitude, able to take initiative
and think critically and solve complex problems. Exercises good judgement and decision making,
persistence, attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, concern for others, and leadership.
Comfortable with significant time on the road. Spanish speaking a big plus.
Daily Responsibilities
30% Machine Building in Shop (Billerica, MA)
Assemble machines based on general machine building knowledge and ability to read
diagrams, assembly drawings, schematics, and other technical documents
Work independently on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing issues while handling
multiple projects at one time
Ensure that all machines are built on time, on budget, and 100% correctly
Alert engineering and work closely with them to fix and modify any incorrect parts / designs
Properly document all builds and procedures
Fill out work orders and other company related paperwork
General shop upkeep and cleaning. Teach and support fellow technicians as needed
50% Customer Installations
Travel to and commission machines at customer site (generally in North America)
Demonstrate system to operators, sanitation, and maintenance while making them excited
about the system
Stay until the customer is 100% satisfied and everything is working properly
Properly document who / what / when / issues with install
Complete related paperwork such as expense reports
10% Customer Service Calls
Travel to customer sites to perform routine maintenance and more complicated repairs
Make everyone at the customer site excited about the machine and how well it operates
5% Solving Down Customers (while in shop)
Assisting customers over the phone with down machines
Absolute sense of urgency to get the machine back up and running
5% Emergency Service Calls
Travel immediately / on short notice to customer site to solve customer problems
Complete sense of urgency getting customers back and running as quickly as possible
