Joining the Secret Service, Office of the Chief Information Officer will allow you to provide a cohesive agency-wide strategy for the management of Secret Service IT assets owned and proposed to be purchased in the near, mid, and long-term.Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below:GS-9: You qualify for the GS-09 level (starting salary $68,405.00) if you possess one of the following:A: Applicant must possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:Utilizing an automated system to monitor inventory (issuance, reassignment, and/or receipt);Ensuring inventory management procedures align with established guidelines;Assisting with the management of a warehouse or distribution facility.NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible.OR B: You have successfully completed two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Master's Degree; or successfully completed a Master's Degree; or LL.B or J.D., if related, at an accredited college or university in a field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.OR C: You have less than one year of experience as described in A and less than 2 years of graduate level education as described in B. However, you have a combination of specialized experience and graduate level education that when combined, equals at least 100% of the total requirement. NOTE: Only graduate education in excess of one year (generally 18 semester hours) may be used in this calculation.GS-11: You qualify for the GS-11 level (starting salary $82,764.00) if you possess one of the following:A: Applicant must possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:Utilizing an automated system to monitor inventory (issuance, reassignment, and/or receipt);Developing guidelines or procedures for the oversight of a warehouse or distribution facility;Planning supply and/or equipment acquisitions within an organization to ensure inventory levels are maintained.NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible.OR B: You have successfully completed three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.; or successfully completed a Ph.D.; or LL.M., if related, at an accredited college or university in a field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.OR C: You have less than one year of experience as described in A and less than 3 years of graduate level education as described in B. However, you have a combination of specialized experience and graduate level education that when combined, equals at least 100% of the total requirement. Note: Only graduate education in excess of the master's level (generally 36 semester hours) may be used in this calculation.All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. Well-Qualified includes those applicants whose knowledge, skills, and abilities clearly exceed the minimum qualification requirements for the position.For information on eligibility criteria and required documentation, go to: work environment frequently requires the incumbent to exercise extreme caution regarding expensive, fragile, and sensitive equipment handling as well as exercising safety precautions at the warehouse and all other USSS locations to include Headquarters. The incumbent is requested to use safe work practices with office equipment, avoids trips or falls, and observes fire regulations and traffic signals while operating a government owned vehicle.The incumbent may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as protective helmets, masks, gowns, coats, boots, goggles, gloves, or shields. Similarly, the incumbent may be required to follow special precautions when working around storage areas containing sensitive equipment. All work areas are adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.The work frequently requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, and reaching.
