Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Youth Center. This is a Regular Part Time position with benefits. Responsibilities This position is located at the Child & Youth Program within the 316th Support Services Squadron. The primary function of the position is to perform heavy laboring tasks, which require significant manual skill and very heavy physical effort to operate equipment necessary to maintain Youth Program and CDC's grounds and facilities The function of the organization where this position is located is in official functional statements. The purpose of this position is to perform manual labor tasks involving the use of heavy hand tools, and heavy power equipment. Regular & Recurring Duties and Responsibilities: Performs one or a combination of the following manual labor tasks: Loads, unloads, or relocates heavy or bulky items from boxcars, trucks, and other conveyances; carriers and assembles scaffolding. Digs ditches and trenches with pick and shovel where dirt is hard and compact; does grading and sloping; occasionally and for short periods of time, breaks up furniture, unload delivery trucks, repair furniture, dispose of waste and broken furniture, remove dirt and debris from play ground area and lawn. Uses heavy (not domestic type) power mowers; adjust blades, and cleans and oils mowers; cuts trees, using ax or chain saw. Performs other related duties as assigned. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience: Experience which demonstrated the ability to operate, control and clean heavy powered equipment. Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions. Physically able to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds. Work that requires the skills and knowledge in operating heavy equipment, continually involves extreme physical effort; such as, constantly lifting or carrying objects weighing 80 to 100 pounds or more with assistance. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal Affiliation.
