Overview CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson part of CommonSpirit Heath a national nonprofit health system based in Englewood Colorado. The Certified Nursing Assistant contributes to positive patient experiences by performing nursing care tasks under the supervision of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical nurse, facilitating communication, and provide general clerical and administrative assistance to the unit. This position supports the mission, vision, and core values of CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson.
Responsibilities Delivers direct patient care as delegated including but not limited to oral cares, bathing, transferring, repositioning, feeding, and providing direct supervision for patients requiring it Communicates and works cooperatively with nursing staff by reporting observations, serving as a liaison between patient and nurse, and updating other staff members through shift report Measures and documents accurately and at the time of occurrence vital signs, input and output, weights, procedures, personal care, activities of daily living, specimens as directed, observations, dietary intake, and ambulation Assumes routine coordination of clerical activities under the direction of department leadership and nurses on duty, including answering and routing phone calls, stocking supplies, communicating new orders and test results to pertinent staff, and locating charts and forms as requested - Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality
Qualifications Required Education and Experience
High school education or G.E.D. and completion of a certified nursing assistant training program.
Required Licensure and Certifications
CNA: ND
AHA Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) - within 30 Days
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
Candidate must be proficient with computers and computer applications in the healthcare setting.
Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
Preferred Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
1 year of experience in the discipline preferred
