SUMMARY This quality assurance inspector position is responsible for conducting stamped product inspections, verifying and documenting inspection results, as well as documenting non-conformances in accordance with applicable customer requirements and internal procedures. This role will also support internal audits, customer surveillances, stamping product rework, and customer audits, when required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Safely, accurately, and promptly performs inspections to correct inspection plan using tools/techniques such as micrometers, calipers, comparator, digital height indicators, feeler gages, hand gages, drop gages, OGP and written and visual standards in addition to getting the correct fixtures for the part consistent with customer requirements.
- Operates equipment, as required (i.e. OGP, CMM (only if internally certified) and comparator).
- Conducts visual inspections for stamped or machined products.
- Conducts in-process and final inspections of in-house manufactured products per established SOP requirements, instructions in traveler, and/or documents referenced on the traveler.
- Records and documents inspection results / findings on applicable data sheets / forms.
- Assists in the preparation and development of inspection instructions / procedures.
- Ensures completion of inspections in a timely manner and tracks/reports activities and metrics.
- Participates in internal audits, as requested.
- Organizes, maintain and secures inspection records to provide for good documentation practices and efficient retrieval.
- Performs department clerical tasks, as assigned, to support department activities.
- Works in accordance with and ensures compliance with the quality system procedures, related to work activities.
- Performs first piece and final inspections.
- Ensures compliance of Company Policies, ISO-9001, NQA-1, JV Manufacturing Quality Management System and applicable government regulations.
General - Embraces and participates in JV's Safety culture, always keeping Safety as the #1 priority. Conforms to and follows all safety rules, production, and quality directives.Maintains cleanliness of work area to meet JV standards.

- Filing, inventory, administrative, tasks, security, auditing, housekeeping, painting, inspections, telephone calls, ordering, shipping, training, mentoring, updating safety data sheets, and any other duties as assigned.
- Performs other duties and assignments, as deemed necessary, to support JV's dynamic business and operational needs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES - Education High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience At least five (5) years of inspection/testing of components, fabricated parts, subassemblies, product assemblies, and finished devices, or related/equivalent industry experience.
- Technology - Proficient computer skills, including use and navigation of internet/intranet. Ability to learn and become proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Visio.Ability to understand and apply appropriate usage of technology in a work environment including virus prevention.Ability to learn other technology related skills, as needed, to perform the essential functions of the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Education / Training - Technical or Associates Degree in related field.
- Technology - Mini-tab and Statistical Process Control, Gage R & R, and capability studies experience.
- Industry Specific Knowledge - Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO TS 19649, NQA-1, 10 CFR Appendix B, and 10 CFR Part 21 is a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is generally working within a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment.
- This position is considered safety sensitive, due to operating heavy machinery and equipment.
- Work week is a minimum of 40 hours. There is additional mandatory overtime as business and operational needs necessitate. Shifts may rotate between 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift, as required.Required work hours, schedules and shifts are subject to change based upon business necessity.Required reliable transportation applies to all shifts, as assigned.
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
- Noise level varies throughout the different work areas. Must wear appropriate PPE, as required, in work area(s).

- Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range.Passing an annual acuity eye exam, in accordance with customer requirements, is required for this position.
