How you make a difference :
The Clinical Assistant provides support in delivering case management, psychoeducational groups, and ancillary treatment services to civilly committed and detained residents of the facility. Working under the supervision of a Clinical Team Leader or licensed clinician, the role involves assisting in various aspects of clinical service delivery, including monitoring resident progress, maintaining accurate records, and communicating with the treatment team. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as knowledge of mental health treatment principles and practices.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist in the delivery of treatment services to residents, including case management, psychoeducational groups, and related ancillary groups, under the direct supervision of a Clinical Team Leader or licensed clinician, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Conduct direct contact and document resident progress, including the review and integration of resident records, referrals to appropriate treatment groups and activities, and coordination with psychiatric and medical services as needed.
Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and staff development meetings, as well as weekly individual and clinical team supervision meetings to discuss assigned caseloads and relevant topics.
Attend and participate in all assigned trainings, including facility and clinical orientation, monthly department trainings, and clinically relevant continuing education topics.
Provide training and consultation to treatment and security staff on clinical methods and procedures related to job duties, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements :
Education
- Bachelors degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related human services field.
Experience
- Two (2) years experience working in the human/social services field, with sexual offenders or other forensic populations, and an understanding of clinical processes and dynamics of sexual deviance strongly preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
- Certified Addictions Professional (preferred)
