If this sounds like a career for you, apply to be a part of our great team.Tri Pointe Connect, the mortgage affiliate of Tri Pointe Homes, is looking for an experienced individual to join our talented group in Arizona as a Loan Processing Team Lead.Position Highlights: The Processing Team Lead works closely with homebuyers, loan consultants/officers, and underwriters to facilitate the gathering and processing of documentation necessary to get approved for a mortgage loan. A Loan Processing Team Lead plays a key role in helping homebuyers realize their dream of homeownership. This includes possessing the knowledge and attention to detail to review critical documents relating to income and assets such as paystubs, tax returns, bank statements, credit reports, and other key documents applicable to the mortgage transaction. A processing team lead possesses strong underwriting analytical skills including calculating income on tax returns, analyzing credit, and the ability to review and disposition other critical documentation to the mortgage transaction. In addition, the Processing Team Lead works with the Sr. Loan Processors and Loan Processors on difficult loans, structuring loans appropriately to meet underwriting guidelines, provide troubleshooting and scenarios to aid in training. The Processing Team Lead will carry an active pipeline with lower volume than the Sr. Loan Processor or Loan Processor. The Processing Team Lead will assist with overall team pipeline management, branch status calls, and workload balancing to ensure all signing/closing dates are met.Position Responsibilities:Review file for completeness, comparing data entered in loan application with actual documentation in fileReview underwriting guidelines to ensure all applicable documentation is gathered and submitted for underwriting approvalReview documentation submitted by borrowers and third parties such as seller/builder, title/escrow, homeowners’ insurance, etc. Ensure documentation is acceptable and meets applicable guidelines or underwriting conditionsRun automated underwriting systems (LP, DU, GUS, TOTAL) as applicableCalculate income on potentially complex scenarios such as business tax returnsMay disposition status of documents received to include acceptance or rejecting documentation for acceptability of meeting loan conditionsMay be required to facilitate restructuring of loans when documentation supplied does not meet guidelines by locating another program that will be acceptableCommunicate verbally and electronically with internal and external parties applicable to the transaction including but not limited to loan consultants, builder representatives, real estate agents, homebuyers, title/escrow agents, homeowners’ insurance agents, and othersManage pipeline deadlines to ensure loans are submitted to critical milestones to meet purchase contract close of escrow deadlinesMaintain updated communication logs or other status reports as applicableAttend weekly/monthly departmental meetingsMonitor loan files and submit change of circumstance requests as applicableOrder third party verifications (employment, income, assets, rent/mortgage) as applicableUnderstand and adhere to all critical regulatory guidelinesProvide insight and experience with most difficult loans.Work with Processing Manager to identify training needs to develop processing team.Answer difficult questions and help identify solutions on more difficult loans/borrower profiles.Meet all established Quality Control MetricsAttend departmental and compliance training as requiredMeet minimum production requirements for active loan pipeline as well as loans closed on timeManage team pipeline to ensure all applicable service levels are being met; facilitate workload balancingPosition Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum 5 years’ experience in a loan processing role; purchase/builder business preferredMS Office; including Outlook, Word, and ExcelEncompass LOS experience preferredMust be able to work in office located in Scottsdale, AZ, hybrid.Prior training experience a plus.Knowledge of underwriting guidelines – including conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and non-QMStrong regulatory knowledge, including ECOA, HMDA, RESPA, and other applicable federal or state-specific guidelinesJob Specific Core Competencies:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong attention to detailOutstanding interpersonal and customer service skillsAbility to multi-task and meet deadlinesStrong organizational skillsAbility to operate independently when needed but perform as a team playerAbility to meet internal and external expectations when working under fast paced sometimes tight deadlinesAt Tri Pointe Homes, we are intentional about fostering an environment where you, and all individuals, are encouraged to be their authentic selves.
