Veterinary Practice Manager
Department: Administrative

Location: Sandy Springs, Georgia
Compensation: $50,000 - $70,000 / year
Description
North Springs Animal Clinic is a well-established small animal and companion animal practice located in Sandy Springs, GA , just outside of Atlanta. We are a dedicated team of veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff focused on providing high-quality, compassionate care to our patients. We are seeking a Veterinary Practice Manager to lead our growing practice, manage day-to-day operations, and ensure our clients and patients receive the best possible experience. As we continue to build our team, we are looking for a leader who understands the intricacies of veterinary practice management and thrives in a collaborative environment.
As the Veterinary Practice Manager , you will oversee the daily operations of North Springs Animal Clinic while working closely with our team of veterinarians , technicians , and support staff . The ideal candidate will have prior experience in veterinary practice management or be a Veterinary Technician or Lead Technician with leadership experience looking to advance their career. This role combines business operations management with hands-on leadership and team development, so a passion for both veterinary care and people management is key.
You will be responsible for overseeing the clinic's financial performance , staff development , client service , and hospital operations . Your leadership will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice and maintaining a positive, productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Practice Management & Operations:
  1. Oversee day-to-day operations of the clinic, ensuring smooth workflow and operational efficiency.
  2. Manage the clinic's budget , including P&L (Profit & Loss) statements, expenses, and revenue goals.
  3. Implement inventory management strategies to maintain adequate stock levels while controlling costs.
  4. Oversee the maintenance and operation of clinic equipment, ensuring all are properly serviced and operational.
  5. Ensure the practice adheres to state and federal regulations (including OSHA and safety protocols) and maintain accreditation with industry organizations, such as the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) .

  • Financial Oversight:
  1. Develop and manage the practice's annual budget , P&L , and financial forecasts to ensure profitability.
  2. Monitor financial performance , track KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), and work with the leadership team to implement strategies for financial growth.
  3. Oversee the preparation and review of billing , collections , and insurance claims to ensure timely and accurate processing.

  • Team Management & Development:
  1. Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of veterinary technicians , assistants , and support staff to foster a positive, efficient, and compassionate workplace culture.
  2. Recruit, hire, and onboard new staff members, ensuring they align with the clinic's values and high standards of care.
  3. Conduct performance reviews , create training plans , and identify opportunities for ongoing staff development and continuing education .
  4. Promote a collaborative, supportive team culture where all staff members work together to deliver excellent patient care and client service.

  • Client Service & Marketing:
  1. Enhance client experience by improving communication, service offerings, and appointment scheduling processes.
  2. Oversee client education initiatives related to pet care, preventative treatments, and available services.
  3. Implement and support marketing efforts to grow the practice, including community outreach , social media presence, and promotional campaigns.

  • Culture & Leadership:
  1. Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented culture that aligns with the practice's mission and values.
  2. Promote open communication and resolve conflicts in a manner that supports a healthy and productive work environment.
  3. Be a hands-on leader who sets the example for high standards of care , compassion , and integrity in all interactions with clients, patients, and staff.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Prior experience in veterinary practice management is preferred, but candidates with relevant experience as a Veterinary Technician or Lead Technician are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong background in financial management , including budgeting, P&L, and performance analysis.
  • Proven ability to manage a team , inspire leadership, and create a positive work environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of veterinary practice operations , including client communication, scheduling, and staff coordination.
  • Excellent communication skills , with the ability to interact with clients, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with practice management software (e.g., Avimark , EzyVet , Cornerstone ) is a plus.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and demonstrate professionalism and integrity at all times.
  • A degree in veterinary technology (LVT, RVT, or CVT) or certification as a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) - pay negotiable for a CVPM .
  • Experience in client relations , marketing , and community outreach.
  • Previous experience in revenue growth strategies, including implementing new services or initiatives to expand the clinic's offerings.
