Performs related duties involved in the care and maintenance of dental instruments, equipment and supplies. Qualifications: EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma/Equivalent CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Basic Life Support (BLS). Graduate of a certified dental assistant program and/or two (2) years of on the job training in a general/specialty dental practice. Essential Functions:+ Assist with Oral-Maxillofacial surgical procedures, performs radiographs and assists in the delivery and coordination of care in the diagnostic dental lab.+ Clean, sterilize and assemble instruments, supplies and equipment required for procedures.+ Assists with Oral-Maxillofacial surgical procedures. Including handling instruments properly, possessing knowledge and application of clean and sterile techniques, and anticipating the surgeon’s needs with proper equipment set up and passing of instruments.+ Take and record vital signs, recognizes variances from normal and take appropriate action by communicating to RN or provider.+ Set-up and assist with pre-op and post-op exams and suture removal.+ Performs proper cleaning and sterilization of instruments according to infection prevention standards.+ Prepare patient for x-ray or ICAT and perform digital imaging as ordered by provider or protocol.+ Documents accurately and completely.
