General Description of Duties : Performs various hands-on cleaning tasks and administrative duties as assigned.Cleans rooms and other premises of facility, by performing any combination of the following tasks; dusts and cleans blinds, furniture, and other surfaces; sorts, counts, folds, marks, and carries linens; turns mattresses and makes beds; moves and arranges furniture and hangs drapes; cleans and polishes metalwork and porcelain bathroom fixtures; spot-cleans walls and windows; empties wastebaskets and removes trash; removes soiled linens for laundering; and replenishes room supplies.Report any needed repairs to equipment, furniture, fixtures and buildings to supervisor. May provide direct services to adult with developmental disabilities.
Education and Training : High School Diploma (or equivalent) preferred with post high school training in the field of housekeeping operations preferred.Three (3) years general work experience preferred.Have the ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures.This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, supervisors, co-workers, and customers.Bi-lingual preferred. Experience working with adults with disabilities preferred.
Other Requirements : Must pass a drug screening and a government background check, and have reliable transportation. Must be able to work with and around various cleaning chemicals. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, carry laundry bundles, lift 25 lbs. and operate required equipment continuously.Must be able to squat, reach above shoulder(s), kneel, push, and pull, frequently.
