Description The Packaging Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and assisting in the operation of packaging equipment at Ritedose. This includes all areas of packaging equipment. The technician must demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot, setup, changeover, and operate all associated equipment pertaining to the packaging lines based on their level of training in support of the departments overall goals.
Responsibilities: - Obtain and keep a good working knowledge of the automated packaging equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment technologies such as sensors, PLCs, robotics, servo control, and vision systems.
- Perform routine preventive and unscheduled corrective maintenance on automated packaging equipment.
- Work to resolve complicated problems with a strong sense of urgency.
- Perform changeovers on the wrappers and assist in changing over other equipment as needed.
- Assist the packaging operators in the preparation and monitoring of the machines as needed. Make adjustments to the equipment during production when advised by the Packaging Leads.
- Initiate ideas to improve equipment performance.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of activities.
- Assist in installation and validation of equipment.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures, good housekeeping practices, safety and health guidelines, and cGMP Guidelines.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 65 pounds of equipment, parts or supplies.
- Ability to ascend or descend machinery using feet, legs, hands and arms up to 8 feet high.
- Ability to maneuver into, around and out of machinery with limited access space.
Qualifications - Minimum of a high school diploma. Prefer Associates Degree in a technical field.
- Prefer 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Prefer some computer experience.
- Ability to read electrical, controls, and mechanical schematics and troubleshoot and repair these systems.
- Ability to establish priorities and meet quality expectations.
- Ability to participate and develop a team-oriented working relationship within the operation.
