Customer Service Representative- Part Time

CareStar, Inc. is currently seeking a Customer Services Representative in the Administrative Department. The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for providing coordination of the Support Services Pool by utilizing in-depth knowledge of company functions to effectively schedule assessments and provide support services to internal and external clients.
THE POSITION
CareStar is looking for motivated individuals who/to:
- Completes calls to assess eligibility of participants according to program-specific criteria and timeframes. Refers non-eligible participants to appropriate community resources.
- Explains criteria and application process for applicable waiver programs, Medicaid Services and other community programs to callers in need of services.
- Adheres to all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations to ensure confidentiality of both consumer and employee information.
- Sends documents to consumers, home care team members, and callers with 100% accuracy to ensure HIPAA compliance; this includes all clinical documentation, waiver applications and instructions.
- Investigates returned documents for correct addresses; updates consumer database and/or notifies case manager of needed changes or inability to obtain correct information; notifies provider management of changes needed in the provider database.
- Emails accurate, complete information from callers to company employees as needed; accurately documents all calls in company electronic Caller Log per protocol.
- Participates in, and occasionally leads, cross-training efforts to ensure adequate coverage for all administrative services tasks.
- Adheres to the CareStar Rule in performance of job responsibilities.
- Understands and complies with CareStar Policies and Procedures.
- Maintains confidentiality as related to patient information. Any disclosures of confidential information made unlawfully outside the proper course of duty will be treated as a serious disciplinary offense.
- Follows the Acceptable Use Policy while using any information systems owned or controlled by CareStar, Inc.
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent, with knowledge of medical terminology.
- At least one (1) year of experience in telephone customer service (multi-line, high call volume) and data entry preferred.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service, including effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, independently and as part of a team.
