This position will be located at our College for Officer Training (CFOT) near Wrigley Field on the North Side of Chicago. CFOT operates as a unique educational program for The Salvation Army that trains our ordained pastors or "officers" for service in our community. With a position on our campus, you will have the opportunity to work in a supportive and mission-driven environment that affects positive change for those we serve.
Job Objective:
Maintain assigned buildings associated with the College for Officers Training through general cleaning and upkeep.
Essential Functions:
- Perform general cleaning throughout the CFOT campus, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, emptying trash, washing windows, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Maintain and clean classrooms.
- Keep janitor closets clean and organized.
- Clean apartments after events and rentals.
- Perform detailed cleaning of assigned spaces.
- Wash and dry soiled linens and clothing using CFOT laundry equipment.
- Keep laundry equipment and the laundry room area organized.
- Report all maintenance-related issues to the Property Director.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
The position requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in facility maintenance
OR: Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Skills and Abilities: - Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership and field personnel.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently with great attention to detail.
- Basic computer knowledge
