Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Legal Intake Specialist at Porter Law Firm in Houston, TX. The Legal Intake Specialist will be responsible for communication with clients, client intake processes, providing excellent customer service, handling matters, and demonstrating strong interpersonal skills in a legal setting.

Qualifications

  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Experience in Client Intake and Customer Service
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Previous experience in a legal setting is a plus
  • Perform follow-up calls/emails/texts to potential clients.
  • Prepare and send new client paperwork and correspondence; follow up with potential clients to obtain required documents or information to complete the intake process.
  • Relay decision to decline to potential clients once case has been rejected by Intake or an attorney.
  • Maintain meticulous records in firm case management system updating Matters as tasks are completed.
  • Assist other departments if needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelors degree preferred
  • One (1) more years of experience performing intakes for a law firm
  • Ability to work non-traditional work hours when necessary
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite, outlook, internet, and learning new systems and software
  • Basic knowledge of legal terminology, intake processes, and best practices
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to complete tasks with conflicting deadlines
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to relay empathy for others situations
  • Excellent judgment with the ability to work under limited supervision
  • Ability to interact professionally with people from various backgrounds
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and as an individual contributor
  • Willingness to support coworkers in whatever way necessary
