Position Summary:

Ogletree Deakins is looking for an experienced Docketing Specialist to join our Client Information Risk Services department. The Docketing Specialist is responsible for executing a wide range of functions including, but not limited to, reviewing electronic mail and filings for accuracy and completeness, and communicating routinely with attorneys, paralegals and practice assistants. The Docketing Specialist also participates in, or manages, assigned projects and/or tasks for local, regional, or Firm-wide initiatives. This position may be remote, but the successful candidate must reside in a state where the firm has a physical office.
Essential Functions:
- Review records and enter schedules or deadlines into the docketing system as needed.
- Generate and proof for quality all routine and specialized docketing system reports, as well as generate and distribute docket reports in accordance with Docketing Department reporting schedule.
- Review state, federal and judges rules, preferences and standards for date calculations and distribute that information to team members.
- Recognize conflicting data prior to entry.
- Ensure retention of source documents/docket confirmation in the Document Management System.
- Keep abreast of developments, procedures, and rules in forums where responsible.
- Undertake detailed research into calendaring, jurisdictional rules and regulations within docketing software.
- Perform date calculations, applying jurisdictional rules.
- Familiarity with docketing department functions, terminology and information collection methods.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience, and 3 years minimum experience in litigation.
- Experience with, CourtAlert or other docketing systems preferred.
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Document Management System (DMS).
- Familiarity with PACER and Electronic Court Filings (ECFs).
- Excellent research, analytical and reasoning skills, including a demonstrated understanding of how data interrelates.
- Excellent and consistent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and able to effectively communicate and provide explanations to all levels of attorneys and staff in the Firm.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple assignments within the parameters of the job functions, and to perform in an environment of shifting turnaround times.
- Strong ability to take ownership and responsibility for projects or special assignments.
- Solid initiative and independent judgment skills.
- Reliable, dependable and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service orientation; positive and proactive manner; strong work ethic.
Benefits:
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $51,900 and $81,200. In accordance with New York Citys Wage Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this New York City position is between $57,200 and $90,500. In accordance with Californias amended labor code as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this California position is between $50,800 and $99,200. In accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities act, the expected salary range for this Washington position is between $57,300 and $86,400. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. This position qualifies for the benefits below.
