Himalayan Pet Supply is looking for an energetic, passionate individual to serve as its Senior Extruder OperatorStarting with a creation by two brothers in 2003, Himalayan created a new category in the pet industry, thus changing the dog chew class significantly. By 2016, we became a leader in the industry as we expanded out into other pet categories, transforming our company from a single product-oriented business to a pet supply company. The Senior Extruder Operator will set up, maintain and operate machinery. The Operator ensures the interminable and efficient running of production. Job responsibilities (including but not limited to):Sets up and operates machine according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.Able to read schematics, pneumatics, and mechanically incline.Prepare work orders, and other specifications to ensure the proper setup sequence is followed. Selects, places, and secures tools. Places and secures the parts of the equipment in proper place.Prepares fixtures and feeding devices, starts machine, and engages feed.Observes each machine to verify quality performance.Verifies measuring instruments such as rulers and calipers in proper working order.Sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machines.Sharpens tools with bench grinder as needed.Performs other related duties as assigned. Handles preventative maintenance. Trains extruder technicians.Creates documentations and specifications for machine settings (HACCP). Supervisory Responsibilities: The Senior Extruder Operator will have oversight and supervise and train the extruder technician on their shift.Fill in Extruder Operator during time off.Job Requirements:Proven experience as a machine operator (5 years)Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)Ability to lift 75 lbs.Able to speak/ read English is a must.Able to stand, walk, and bend for 5-7 hrs. at least each day.Able to work weekends (Saturday) to perform Preventative Maintenance at least once a month.Understanding of production procedures.Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear, PPE)Ability to work with other departments and follow guidelines.Ability to read and follow SOPs and manuals.Analytical skills.Attention to detail.Ability to work with other ethnicities. You must know how to drive a forklift and scissor lift.
