Job Summary: The Production Operator is responsible for performing a variety of production line and material handling tasks in a manufacturing environment. This role involves achieving production standards through manual operations and/or equipment operation while ensuring compliance with safety and company policies. Accurate documentation in batch records and other official documents is essential.
Key Responsibilities: - Inspect components, materials, documents, and final products as part of the production process or offline.
- Execute activities specified in batch records and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Sample and evaluate products according to defined methods, recognizing action levels, and notifying area specialists and supervisors of any deviations.
- Perform and document lot changes, line clearances, production processes, and cleaning operations.
- Identify and manage non-conforming products (rejects).
- Achieve established labor standards for assigned tasks.
- Provide feedback and information on commodity and process issues to ensure quality products are delivered to subsequent processes.
- Collaborate in a team environment to coordinate activities, solve problems, and communicate effectively.
- Adapt to changes constructively and participate in area improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
- Adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), SOPs, and plant policies.
- Evaluate process, product, and equipment performance based on prescribed procedures.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned, including outdoor work for material disposition.
Knowledge & Skills: - Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- Proficient in following both verbal and written instructions.
- Competent in basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and percentages).
- Ability to perform minor mechanical adjustments, clear jams, and troubleshoot equipment.
- Must pass the GMP test and obtain area certifications.
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience: - High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Work Environment: - Travel is typically less than 5% of the time.
- This position requires meeting production standards.
- Physical activity levels vary based on specific assignments.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hearing protection, safety shoes, and prescription glasses (if prescribed), must be worn.
- May be required to work outdoors and assist with material disposition.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs unassisted and up to 75 lbs assisted.
