Registered Nurses Float Pool are responsible for providing continuous quality patient care in a variety of settings. The Float Pool RN is part of a resource team that is assigned to varying units during their shift to ensure that patient care needs are met. These RNs possess the skills, competency and qualifications, as well as a requirement to work in several different clinical areas. This group shall be known as the Float Pool. These employees are a part of Patient Care Services.
There are three RN teams in the float Pool, RN Team 1, Specialty Track/ CCU, RN Team 2, Inpatient Acute, and RN Team 3, Women's Services. Qualifications- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
- Experience:
- Team 1 (Specialty/CCU): Min 2 yrs in critical care or ED setting. Team 2 (Inpatient Acute) - Min 1 yr general Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience, required.
- Team 3 (Women's Svcs): Min 2 yrs in L&D, Post-partum, or NICU. All Teams require Cardiac Dysrhythmia test or successfully complete the Cardiac Dysrhythmia course within 6 months of hire, required.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current compact RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
- NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required .
- Additional skills required: Specialty Certification, Chemo Certification, Non Violent Crisis Intervention, Triage Course, NRP.
