General Notes

The Department of Neurology at the Dell Medical School is looking for a Clinical Research Associate II.

This position is located at Dell Children's Medical Center (4900 Mueller Blvd, Austin, Tx). It is expected that work is conducted on-site.
Purpose
To support the clinical research activities of the UTHA Pediatric Neurosciences Program at Dell Children's.
Responsibilities

  • Perform and report results of professional-level scientific assignments related to neurosciences. Responsible for evaluation and application of standard scientific techniques used in routine research.

  • Implement and maintain the integrity of procedures and protocols in research, mapping, surveys, and investigations. Make and record observations and measurements. Collect, code, and analyze research data. Coordinate research including- responding to emails, collaborating with other members of research teams, and attending and participating in project meetings. Consent and inform research participants about study objectives. Conduct interviews with research participants and administers research questionnaires. Ensure that the necessary supplies, equipment, and/or medication for a study are in stock and in working order. Communicate with, and monitors study participants throughout the duration of studies.

  • Perform literature review. Prepare progress reports as needed. Assists in professional and population-based dissemination of research outcomes. Promote and adheres to research regulatory and ethical standards. Conduct specified phases of research projects. Perform related duties as required.

  • Assist with the coordination of human subject recruitment and research within the department. This includes administrative responsibilities related to human subject management.

  • Other related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

Master's degree and no experience, or bachelor's degree and two years of related experience.Familiarity with engineering and/or scientific equipment ordinarily used in college laboratory work. Experience with human recruitment and research. Proficiency with MS Office Suite and excellent data management/analysis skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills.Knowledge of research methods. Excellent verbal and writing skills. Attention to detail. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree and 1-2yrs of experience. Interest or experience in the field of neurosciences or related research. Proficiency with literature searches. Experience with Excel. Experience with REDCap/other database research platforms. Speaks and writes Spanish fluently.


Salary Range
$45,000+ depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
