Position Summary: We are looking for a Machinist to work in our air-conditioned Machine Shop. This role is a quality champion for the company, producing the machined components and assemblies that make up company products. The Machinist is responsible for completing small runs of machined parts to print and specification - assuring all work is performed on time and in accordance with the company Quality System, Safety Policies and customer requirements. Specific job responsibilities are given below.Scope of ResponsibilitiesLooking for an expert at either 3D CNC programming of Okuma and Bridgeport mills or at ID/OD grind on an Okuma grinder.Must read, interpret, and understand technical engineering drawings, routers, process specifications, and quality documentation to correctly setup and run jobs including selecting cutting tools to be used, method of holding work piece, and machine speeds and feeds.Experience machining small runs of very tight tolerance, small precision parts preferred (0.0002”typical)Must understand close tolerance machining, generally low volume critical components including tooling, changes, offsets requiredMust understand GD&T and be capable of correctly measuring first piece partsExtensive experience machining maraging steels desired (13-8, 17-4, Vascomax)Improvises and adapts standard tooling.Performs typical operations such as turning, facing, boring, chamfering, turning tapers, drilling, grooving, reaming;machine compound angles, multiple angles, radii, splines, serrations and keyways.Performs all types of helical and spiral milling, drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, and slottingAble to perform general preventative maintenance of machines, including drain and change wash and coolant tanksRequires use of various hand tools, semi-automated equipment, jigs and fixtures.Comfortable working under ISO 9001: 2008 and AS9100 quality control systems.Complies with all Manufacturing processes and standards.Ensures compliance with the company quality system in order to maintain high standards of quality, reliability and safety.Personal, professional and team development in order to continuously improve machine operations at our company.Maintains records as required.
