AMBUL CARE ADMSTN CRD 3Pediatric Heart CenterFull Time82001BRJob Summary The Program Coordinator will be responsible for primary clinical administrative support for our neurodevelopment (Healthy Hearts & Minds Program), Advanced Fontan Clinic and General Cardiology teams, and the position will be cross-trained to cover other staff members who provide administrative support for our pediatric cardiologists and AHP's. S/he is expected to maintain a solid working relationship with our Oakland and outreach team members.Additionally, the coordinator will be an active member in departmental committees to help develop marketing plans, create internal policies, and function as a communication liaison. S/he will pull data and analyze reports revolving around patient access and work queues, and s/he will participate in quality improvement measures.Applies acquired skills and clinical and operational knowledge of ambulatory care clinics to coordinate aspects of clinic operations of intermediate scope and complexity. Monitors daily clerical activities, billing, and other operational services for a clinic in the medical center.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Department Description The Pediatric Heart Center is an integrated program of doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals working together to offer comprehensive, patient-centered care to the fetus, infant, child and adolescent with heart disease, as well as adults with congenital heart disease. Our growing program encompasses a number of sub-specialties, including: Arrhythmia Center, Cardiology Clinic, Cardiopulmonary Lab, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Fetal Cardiology, Healthy Hearts & Minds, Heart Failure/Transplant, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiopulmonary Exercise Lab, and Pulmonary Hypertension.The Healthy Hearts and Minds (H2M) program is a neurodevelopmental follow-up program for children with congenital heart disease (CHD). Our multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive clinical and developmental evaluations and ongoing coordinated care to support children with complex heart defects from infancy through adolescence.Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.Familiarity with clinic medical billing practices including coding, billing systems and documentation requirements. Knowledge of ambulatory care clinic practice management including patient care workflows and processes.Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology and clinical knowledge of clinic practice area.Working knowledge of medical center policies and procedures and related legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environments.Strong communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Ability to clearly and concisely communicate clinic rules and regulations.Demonstrated interpersonal skills with diverse staff and patients. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within clinical team.Proven organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks. Takes initiative. Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage several projects simultaneously, respond rapidly to conflicting priorities, and handle tasks with high degree of accuracy.Ability to perform all commonly applicable functions in word processing and spreadsheet software. Skills in data management.
