Admit sick pediatric patients. Mostly through the ER occasionally direct from an office.
Perform examinations on pediatric patients admitted to the hospital.
Conduct comprehensive assessments, make diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans.
Monitor treatment effectiveness and patient progress.
Round in pediatric acute care areas including medical/surgical, ICU, ER and newborn nursery.
Attend and assist in high-risk and cesarean deliveries on labor and delivery unit. Stabilize the newborn e.g. respiratory distress It may involve only PPV or CPAP may be needed. Full respiratory resuscitation is the doctor's responsibility.
Participate in on-call coverage 1:5 (Call is defined as weekday 5PM - 7AM) We likely would not use weekend call for the locum but I'll double check on that.
Collaborate and consult with a multi-disciplinary team of nurses, physicians and other medical professionals.
Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Must be board-certified/board eligible in Pediatrics, NY Licensed
