LCLD PARTNERSHIP In partnership with the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, Johnson Controls is accepting applications from current full-time, 1L law students to participate in the 1L LCLD Scholars Program. This program is designed to strengthen the legal pipeline by expanding the number of opportunities for diverse first-year law students. Johnson Controls provides 1L Scholars with valuable professional experiences while introducing them to the value of relationships and building networks with LCLD Members. POSITION SUMMARY This is your chance to gain real-world experience in the legal department of a Fortune Global 500 company. Johnson Controls is seeking two (2) enthusiastic 1L LCLD Scholars to work with its in-house legal team for 10 weeks during the summer of 2025. The interns will have exposure to various aspects of a global corporate legal environment, including contract review, litigation, labor and employment, intellectual property, data privacy, compliance, investigations, and mergers and acquisitions. We are a highly collaborative team, so the interns will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects. Applicants with an interest in Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) strongly encouraged. This is a paid position. LOCATION This internship is based primarily at Johnson Controls’ North America Headquarters in Glendale, WI. 2 RESPONSIBITLITIES As a member of the Johnson Controls Legal Department, you will work closely with members of the in-house legal team as well as with business professionals across the enterprise and outside counsel. Your responsibilities may include substantive research and writing, document review, and risk analysis. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Candidates must be full-time law students that will complete their first year of law school immediately before the internship. The internship is for the summer of 2025.
