Job Summary:
The Bath Club is seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our members by assisting in menu execution, kitchen operations, and team leadership. The ideal candidate is a passionate culinary professional with strong organizational skills and a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Culinary Excellence: Assist the Executive Chef in designing, preparing, and presenting high-quality dishes aligned with our club's standards. Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
- Leadership & Team Management: Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Lead by example to maintain high morale and performance standards.
- Kitchen Operations: Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, inventory management, and adherence to safety and sanitation protocols.
- Menu Development: Contribute creative ideas for menu planning and seasonal offerings. Collaborate with the Executive Chef to incorporate member feedback and trends.
- Cost Control: Monitor food costs and minimize waste while maintaining quality. Assist in purchasing and receiving to ensure budget compliance.
- Event Support: Work closely with the Events and Food & Beverage teams to coordinate culinary services for club events, ensuring seamless execution.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in a high-volume kitchen environment, with at least 1 year in a leadership role. Fine dining or private club experience preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in various cooking techniques, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications: Food Safety Certification (e.g., ServSafe) required.
